Problem:

Customer brought me his Nissan Qashqai J10 model from 2010. He could not start the car.
Car has the I-Key system (Keyless). Smart keys have integrated mechanical flip-keys.
They look like that

So, when I open the flip-key and put it into ignition, car starts, but no remote locking/unlocking and no keyless start is possible. I-Key module is completely dead, I can’t connect to it. When I connect second-hand I-Key module, diagnostic connects, I get the red “key” lght on dash, meaning that key is not paired to I-Key module. I have VVDI2, VVDI Key Tool Plus, SMOK and AVDI. None of those tools want to write keys to the used I-key module. I think it must be programmed and paired to the BCM first. But I can’t do this with any tool. When I opened the I-Key module, I don’t see any EEPROM. Only Fujitsu MCU. It’s based on MB90F347A processor.

PROBLEM SOLVED:

After few hours I was able to start the car with my tools. Old I-Key module was completely dead and I had no luck in reading the MCU. So I decided to give it another try today. I connected used module, tried to program it to the car, but AVDI and VVDI was giving me errors while programming the keys. I started to look for a solution, and I found out, that if there is any active DTC connected to IMMO system in any of IMMO related modules. I had active P1610 – ECU in locked state.
So I had to take care of it first. As I could start the car if I used mechanical key in ignition module. So I started the car, left it to idle for about 10 minutes. DTC turned to inactive and I could erase it. Afterwards I just had to erase smart keys and program them. VVDI key tool plus did the trick without any problem afterwards. Now remotes and keyless start is working like a charm.

 Problem:

Trying to update Xhorse Multi Prog firmware online, but failed, it reported a file write error, and instruction timeout.

Solution:

Delete multiprog software and install again.

Then run firmware update.

If had any problem with multi prog, send Diagnostic report to Xhorse engineer.

Need to activate BMW motorcycle license in key tool plus.

Go to Immo programming->BMW->Select from system->BMW motorcycle key learning->Key function, Start programming.

The key need to unlock, so it need pre-process that means we need to unlock the unit

Unlock X_SLZ/X_EWS.

Read key and learn key.

 Today I’m going to show how to unlock 2020+ Nissan Ultima or Maxima smart key with Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Max/ Key Tool Max PRO. When a Nissan OEM smart key is used on a vehicle, you’re not able to reuse it on a different car. Its circuit board will lock up. But with the Key Tool Max, you can renew or unlock the key. Now let’s get start.

As we can see, the circuit board is Locked now.

Special function >> Remote Renew >> Nissan >> AES Smartkey – A232800800 5BTN 433MHz

Scroll down the screen, we can check the connection diagram.

Hook up circuit board &VVDI Key Tool Max by soldering.

After successfully connected, click “Unlock”.

Remote renew is in process…

Refresh successfully.

Go back to read the key again.

Key status is Unlock now.

Operation mode: BDM

Use BDM frame from other brands.

Multi-prog will show you the BDM wiring diagram.

 Here comes the similar problem:

BMW F30 after desoldering 95128 eeprom all data lost (maybe overheated). Using xhorse vvdi prog and vvdi2.
In new eeprom i wrote data from another FEM but car now starts only from the emergency coil, remote did not works.
i try wrote many dumps from another fem. update FEM with ISTA , but remote still not working.

Tried to desolder with hot air, the eeprom may have been damaged.

Is it possible to restore data? What is the procedure to recover the FEM? Or do I need to buy new FEM?

Solution:

NO NEED TO BUY ANY NEW FEM.
Find any 95128 dump make all programming FEM with vvdi2.
Restore coding
Now in car key must start only from the emergency coil.

At first read isn by vvdi from the working key.
Erase key with vvdi.
Dissemble key.
Renew key by vvdi key tool or vvdi prog.
Program “old” -new key with vvdi2.

Also if it is manual gearbox you will need to virginize the elv.
AND ALL !!!!

You can also restore FEM with autohex, same procedure as above.

For the guys wondering why when a FEM flash fails you cannot fix it.

FEM has 2x SWFL, they control the ignition, if both SWFL become corrupted then the FEM does.
not know when and how to cycle the ignition, this is why you hear the relays clicking, if the bootloader is ok you may be able to restore the SWFL by updating istep, if the BTLD is corrupted then its likely a new FEM

if only 1 SWFL is corrupted and the other is ok then the FEM can be restored.

You also have other ways to program BMW FEM key, via clip solder free adapter or with bench test platform.

You cannot do it via obd fem. You opened fem module to read and write eeprom files.

You can do bench via godiag test platform.

Procedure:

1.Backup coding
2.Service mode, read eeprom data, load eeeprom and prepare service EEPROM, write service
EEPROM data, restore FEM/BDC shell, provide 12V+ and connect OBD.
3.Unlock FEM
4. Write back EEPROM
5. Recovery coding

If you read the warning it says if obd pre processing you can ignore that.
