How to Update Multi prog software?
Press ‘Update Online‘ button on the top to update software online.

This is a 2020 Volvo XC90 with all keys lost, so we’re about to program a new key for this car with Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus. Since I’ve already took out the module to get data, following I’ll just program the key directly.

Put the new key into car coil slot, it’s right here beside the armrest.

Plug VVDI Key Tool Plus into OBD port.

Immo programming >> Volvo >> XC90 >> 2015- >> Smart key system >> Start programming >> Read the number of keys

 

Knob start button: turn Start knob to the right once then release Pushbutton.

Start button: press the start button once and then release it.

The current number of keys: 3

 

Press “Add smart keys”.

  1. This process need disassemble and read CEM module data, please operate with caution;
  2. Some modules(MPC5748G) need external 100ohm resistor, non-professionals do not operate;

Problem:

I’m trying to write Nec RENESAS V850 D70F3632 with xhorse vvdi prog after Erased and Unlocked. Config and P-flash writing with no problem, but D-flash I can’t write, give me Write Error (00). If I try to write an FF dump, all writing is good. I can change only the first 4bit, and write. Tool VVDI-prog. 5.3.2.
Does possible to write this Nec after unlocking?

Solution:

VVDI Prog can only read MQB NEC35XX RENESAS V850 D70Fxxxx mcu, cannot write mcu.

Same as RH850 mcu, vvdi key tool plus can only read, cannot write.

 Today I have an instrument cluster from 2018 Audi Q3 with all keys lost. What I’m going to do is to turn the odometer on and extract immo data with Xhorse VVDI2. Once getting the immo data, I can make a key.

 

Let’s go start disassembling this cluster.

Open VVDI2 software to login.

  1. The dashboard is dark when you see this tips. You need finish all operation before reset instrument.
  2. Read EEPROM and save it.
  3. Read immo data and save it.
  4. Prepare a dealer key(You can go to step7 if have working key also don’t want add key).
  5. Reset Instrument.
  6. Add key, use immo data to learn the new dealer key to car.
  7. Finish other customer requests.

 

NOTE: The dashboard will remain dark until “Reset Instrument”.

 Here we share user working experience on 2011 Mercedes Vito (W639) All Keys Lost using xhorse vvdi mb tool and power adapter on bench.

 

‘I spent over 2 hours trying to perform data acquisition for all keys lost on a 2011 Mercedes Vito (W639) on bench.

Below is the diagram I followed (which is correct) I used VVDI MB power adapter, but no matter what I did the data acquisition would fail @ 80%ish, every time I would retry it would go a little bit past 80% or a little bit below 80%. After speaking to a few skilled locksmiths I confirmed I was doing everything correctly.

I then noticed that the lens part of the EIS (the IR sensor) was really grubby and had a lot of dirt/grime on it. I cleaned it using isopropyl alcohol and some kitchen towel (there is a photo of the dirt that came off the lens) then the data acquisition worked straight away, it also worked very quickly in comparison to the previous attempts. I don’t know if anyone has had this issue before but I will be cleaning all the EIS IR lenses from here on out. Hope it helps.’

 We got a 2006 Mercedes-Benz ML350 with all keys lost from customer. So we’re gonna use Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus + Benz EZS/EIS Adapter to program a new key for it.

 

We’ve removed the HVAC panel, and there are 2 T15 torque screws. Just unscrew those and the radio will just come out. Then unscrew the little ring that holds the EIS, and unhook these 2 cables. It’s very simple and fast.

We’re using the W164 adapter to read EIS immo data. With it, we don’t have to solder, which should be a fairly simple job. There are 2 sets of data that are stored on the EIS: Eeprom & Flash. Read them and make a backup copy of both files.

 Godiag CAS2 CAS3 Semi Smart Test Platform is a dedicated device developed for BMW locksmiths, maintenance engineers. It can be used with multiple BMW key programming devices like Xhorse, Autel, CGDI, Lonsdor, OBDSTAR, Xtool, AVDI etc to add key or do all keys lost on bench.

 

This test platform is suitable for magnetic semi-intelligent or smart keys. It does not do mechanical keys.

Godiag CAS2 CAS3 Test Platform

Here vvdishop.com shows how to use the godiag test platform with Xhorse vvdi2vvdi bim tool or  VVDI Key Tool Plus Pad.

 

Step 1: Connect the CAS2/CAS3, CAS3+ CAS3++ modules with vvdi2 or bimtool pro according to the connection diagram.

Step 2: Put the key into the key sensing area.
Step 3: Connect the power supply and the corresponding power indicator light will light up. The start/stop button light is on. The coil sensor light will flash. [Indicates that the module can send out the key sensing signal normally. If the key and the module are synchronized, the light will flash regularly or stay on. If the key and module are out of sync, the flashing will be irregular and will stop after one minute.]
Step 4: Press the start switch. [If the key is synchronized with the CAS module, the IMMO synchronization detection indicator light will light up and the internal buzzer of the machine will sound. If the key is not synchronized with the CAS module, the IMMO synchronization detection indicator light will not light up and the internal buzzer of the machine will not sound.]
Step 5: Press the analog start and stop button, the IMMO synchronization detection indicator light will go out after 3 seconds. Press the analog start/stop button again and the IMMO synchronization detection indicator light will light up.
The following uses Xhorse vvdi2 device to perform BMW CAS2/CAS3, CAS3+ CAS3++ semi-intelligent/smart key programming and matching operations:
1. Connect the CAS2/CAS3, CAS3+ CAS3++ module and the key programming diagnostic device according to the connection diagram.
2 Select “key learn—CAS Key Learn—Connect”.

3.After successfully identifying the CAS information, select “Get Key Info” and “Save Key Info”.

4.Select an unused key position, be sure to select the “prepare dealer key with programmer” menu, and use the VVDI2 key programmer to generate the key. If the key is placed in the GODIAG CAS2 CAS3 SER Semi Smart Test Platform key sensing area, the dealer key will not be generated.

5.After programming the dealer key, put the key into the Godiag CAS2 CAS3 SER Semi Smart Test Platform induction port for testing. For test steps, please refer to “Synchronous Detection of Module and Key”.
If the IMMO light cannot light up, enter the VVDI2 menu “Key Learn—CAS/EWS Information—Connect—Synch DME-CAS or Synch CAS-ELV”. [When performing synchronization, the key must be placed in the key sensing area of the VVDI2 device.

 Question: Can Xhorse Toyota XM38 smart key be programmed by Toyota Techstream software for a smart keyless entry A433 chip?

Program Xhorse XM38 Key with Toyota Techstream

Answer:

Yes you can. But you need to generate first.
These type of keys work exactly like the OE remote does.

You will need to generate it as the correct key type with a vvdi device first, then you can program it with any device.

Open your OEM remote and you will find the board number. 271451-0500 use the last 4 (0500) digit to search in the Xhorse tool. Generate it with Xhorse and you can add with Techstream.
Using techstream is just OEM software, and to use OEM software to program keys you need a lsid/vsp, if you are not in the US, you can’t get a lsid/vsp.
The PIN code is for security, you have to deal with it either way.
