 If your Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Max pro fails to start communication with vehicle and asks to check if the OBD wiring is normal, follow guide below to do a device self test.

VVDI Key Tool Max Pro Self Test

In main menu select IMMO Programming

Select More Functions

Press Device Test

Select K-line Test

Short Connect PIN7 and PIN15 with the OBD connector.

If Key Tool Max Pro says the test failed, there is something wrong with the device. You may need to send it back for repair.

 If there is no connection to the OBD connector with Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus, you can do a device test.

Follow instructions below to do a self-test.

Go to IMMO Programming- More functions- Device Test

Select K-line Test

Short connect PIN7 and PIN15 to do a K-line test.

You can also do a CAN-line test.

Then report the test result to us.

 Problem:

I have failed to update the Xhorse VVDI Mini OBD Tool firmware from 1.0.5 to 2.0.1. I have no luck in the App or via the Upgrade kit. Is there any solution?

Solution:

If failed to update mini obd tool firmware from 1.5.0 to V2.0.1, replace battery of mini obd tool.

Replace a new battery (CR2032), update firmware and sync device again.

 Can Xhorse Multi prog be used in offline mode like Vvdi prog?

You’re asking whether Multiprog can be used offline, similar to VVDI Prog.

 Problem:

It failed to do Xhorse multi prog firmware updates and now is says upgrading but nothing happens.

I tried reset button but same problem.

Software display error “Device Authentication Failed”. Any solution?

Solution:

Xhorse engineer suggests sync authorization to see if it is normal.

If you can sync authorization, try again. If not, restart the multi prog device and software.

User solutions:

1). Connect it to USB directly to the computer that has the program, turn off the equipment, turn it back on (with the USB already connected) and update the firmware, it works (it happened to me).

2). Something similar happened to me and i used another PC to do update via the LAN cable and it worked.

Key Tool Plus display the number of matched keys: 2

Add a key >> Yes

During matching, make sure all doors are in their current positions.

Keep a matched key close to start button…

Checking ID code, please wait…

Please place the keys to be matched close to the start button in turn within 60 seconds.

After all operations are completed, click OK to go to the next step.

Please turn off the ignition.

Please turn on the ignition with each matched key in turn within 60 seconds.

Note:

1. The key should be located in the car, near to the ignition switch button(ignitable area).
2. During matching, please ensure that all doors remain in their current positions.

Check two keys, both the original and the new one can work.
